Premier League champions Leicester City are in advanced talks to sign Genk star Wilfred Ndidi, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.
According to the report, the league champions are set to pay €20 million (£17million) to bring the Nigerian international to England.
Leicester City are desperate to bolster their squad in the January transfer window after a disappointing defence to their title, and they have lined up a deal for Ndidi as a replacement for Chelsea star Ngolo Kante.
Ndidi is regarded as one of the best young players in Europe after impressing at Genk during the past 18 months. The 19-year-old, who can play in defence or central midfield, has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United,
Should he joined Leicester, Ndidi will become the second Nigeria star at the club after Ahmed Musa, who joined ‘The Foxes’ in the summer.
